Kroger Expansion Midlothian, VA

This was a major renovation/expansion of both the interior and exterior of the building to accommodate a new, 85 seat dining area that consists of both inside and outside seating areas. The building foot print was expanded more than 75 feet to the front and more than 60 feet to the left side resulting in over 33,000 additional square feet.

In addition to the dinning area, this store would receive all new decor, finishes, casework and shelving, and a new front facade equating to a construction cost of seven million dollars, excluding FF&E. The design schedule for this project was 12 weeks, from start to 100%.

Aside from the obvious logistical and design challenges present with an expansion of this scale. A project of this magnitude necessitates pleasing both local jurisdictions and the general public. In the end this job met the owners design criteria while being accepted by local jurisdictions.
